Discovering healthy ways to eat and making it fun for kids can surely be a challenge. Experience Early Learning has provided us with discovery activities that taught us about grains, vegetables, fruits, dairy, and protein all of which are important to keep a healthy body. We don’t realize all the foods that provide these necessary nutrients for us.
Grains oats, rice, barley, and cornmeal to name a few are types of grains that are in our everyday foods. We started our day off with a creative corner activity!
SANDWICH ART

VEGETABLE STAMP ART
What vegetables do you see? What shapes do you think the vegetables will stamp. We set out bell peppers and paint. We then put paint on a paper plate letting the kids choose which color they wanted to paint with. The kids had a hard time grasping the bell peppers because they were slippery but we enjoyed looking at our finished projects.

APPLE ACTION BOOK – LITERACY
I read this book at the park and we had a blast acting out the different actions! Experience Early Learning Curriculum has the best books! They are interactive, colorful, and engaging!

LEARNING ABOUT DAIRY AND MAKING OUR COW PUPPET
What are the parts of a cow? How many stomachs does a cow have? I was surprised to learn they have four! We folded a paper plate in half glued on all the pieces and pretended we were on the farm.

STEAM STATION ACTIVITY MILKING A COW!
I set up a table in my front yard added water and food coloring to the gloves and then poked a small hole in the glove so that the water would come out when we squeezed it!
