Basic math skills for preschoolers.Early learning should introduce simple mathematical concepts. By introducing children to basic skills, teachers are making the elementary education a little easier, and introducing math concepts should start when children are around three years old. Experience Early Learning Curriculum makes this each with the activities they provide every month. In the activities below the kids were counting how many piggies they had and then passed them thru the tube. And then using the tractor they would fill it up and count how many would fit. Both fine motor skills, and math concepts were learned.
Fine Motor Activities, sorting and bingo by color and animal are great ways for children to be interactive in their learning. Below we would say “Put three pink straws in the cup”, they would grab that amount with the pinchers and drop them into the cup. They even wanted to do this later as a circle time activity.
Number 19 & 20
How many snowflakes tall are you! They loved when we did this, they were calm and very patient while we would put each card down, and then count to see how tall they were.
The first thing I notice about all these activities is that the kids are interactive, and happy to be a part of learning. They continue to be excited about what we are learning and want to know what we are doing next.
