Teaching Self Expression To A Preschooler

Teaching kids to like and be happy with themselves and just to be themselves is monumental.   Children have an innocent way of not being afraid to express and just be themselves and it sure is refreshing.

Self-expression is, at its core, the action of expressing yourself, and it can take a wide variety of forms. You can use your words, your facial expressions, your body, your movements, clothing, actions, and possessions to express yourself to the world around you.  With the Experience Early Learning Curriculum, it gives you open-ended activities where the kids can create the way they feel comfortable.

You can incorporate this into your lesson plan showing the kids that they can express themselves and create something amazing and that it’s ok not to have everyone’s projects the same.

Choosing a preschool curriculum that helps foster creativity and the ability make each project your own is great.  Children benefit and we benefit as teachers!

I notice when I try to give them to many instructions they freeze and feel uncertain of their project.  But when they create what they want and how they want they take more time to complete and are just happier.
