Make it easy for kids to choose a healthy lifestyle by involving them in activities that get them moving. You can also involve them in shopping or putting together a list of things that they like that are healthy and have them choose one new thing to try.
Here at school and with my own kids over the years we have kept a regular meal schedule where I offer healthier choices and make fun and yummy but healthy snacks available. My preschoolers will try more when they are all in a group if their friends are trying it.
This month we are focusing on being healthy with Mother Goose so we extended our activity with listening to our heart beat before exercise and after. They loved the stethoscope.
LISTENING TO OUR HEART BEAT
Who would of knew that listening to our heartbeat would be so much fun! I love seeing their eyes light up when they learn something new.
MAKING OUR FIRST AID BAG
We had fun with these medical bags, we pretended to be hurt just so that we could use the bandages.
BALANCING
This is a fun way to learn, we exercised by balancing and had the kids do relay’s it helps with fine motor and large motor skills and its just fun! You could see the serious looks on the kids faces they were so focused on keeping the red ball on the spoon.

MEASURING
The kids loved licking the sponges to stick them together and then measuring the different lengths, we even went around the room measuring all types of things.
FUN WITH THE STRING
This activity was great! We have been having a ton of rainy day’s . I had them do all types of activities, we would have them lay on their back and grab the string with their feet. We would roll on the string, roll a ball trying not to let it roll off, hop on it, and walk backwards.
