I love the fact that Mother Goose Curriculum has everything organized day to day. It takes the stress away and keeps you organized. Each day you are given four different areas that you can focus on .
- Community Challenge – we work together to sing a song, read a story or discuss what we are learning this week. Age appropriate of course.
- Creative Art – We discuss what we are making, make it and then play with our activity.
- Small Group Literacy -Explore (example, when learning about germs you invite the kids to hold a paper napkin and sneeze or cough into it. Your question would be does it get wet or what do they notice happens) it helps them to think out of the box. Sometimes they will have a game to play to enforce this.
- Table Top Math – starting to be my kids favorite! You set out the math and manipulatives they send. The kids love these and they are always themed based. I have now started laminating and making centers out of them!!!
With Mother Goose Curriculum they give you a teaching manual, that helps you with the learning objectives and overview so that you can understand how the daily experiences integrate research – based skills through playful hands on projects.
Here is a little we learned this week being Nature Detectives.
We read our get close to nature book that was included. This book even had my school age kids involved.
CREATIVE ART NATURE BOOK
We discussed what colors you see in nature, they then explored and drew a few items in their book.
CREATIVE ART SCENTED BAG
We added lavender to our bags!
