We are planting this month and the kids are really enjoying all the activities, below we are measuring to the line the correct amount of water. Kinslee said ” you always have us do important things” I love that! I love how engaged they are in these lessons.
Kids are exactly like seeds they start small and when given the right things they flourish, grow and plant their roots.
So often we place kids in this box (not literally ) but we expect them to all learn the same thing at the same time in the same way. I think its amazing how their brains learn and how much they can learn being put in the right environment.
The best way for preschoolers to learn about the natural world is through hands-on activities and experiences. By exposing them to science, art, music, etc.
This activity was so much fun even though we used some of the same flowers, leaves., twigs the kids pictures came out so great and individual. Sawyer said they all look different and nice.
They had a blast pretending to write with dirt!! They said we are using our fingers???
I really enjoyed this activity It took longer than I expected but it was super cool! We talked here about how the flower is fed, this was a great activity they were really still and watching with excitement as the colors crept up the paper towel and into the other cup.
At first I thought I would nice like the journals but they have ended up being something that we really enjoy. All ages like them and the little ones are surprising me at how well they are able to understand and complete. They feel so proud of themselves.
I profoundly impact the lives of children. Research indicates that teacher quality is the most important factor in students’ academic success. And there is tremendous satisfaction in watching a child discover new learning. As the poet William Butler Yeats said, “Education is not the filling of a pail but the lighting of a fire.”
Sometimes I don’t think I am good enough to be in such a great place of responsibility but my heart is in the right place. And I do the best that I can for them. I love these kids!
